Sensor foil card
What does a screen feel like when it only moves because you do?
Hold “apps”. Drop them. Touch these words. This card has no purpose. Tilt it. The screen moves because you move.
Designer, self-assessed LV 99. Skills: pushing pixels, arguing with Figma, making things move that probably didn’t need to move. Weakness: shiny things.
- Spotlight
- Two copies of the text; the bright one is clipped to a 124 pt circle that follows the finger, or the phone’s tilt when nobody is touching.
- Foil
- The back is a silver gradient under a Skia runtime shader. Hue shifts across the card and with both tilt axes.
- Chips
- Hold “apps” and three chips fan out above the word. Let go and they fall under the phone’s real gravity, bounce, spin and settle, with a haptic on each hit.
- Flip
- A quick horizontal flick turns the card on a spring; the card shrinks slightly edge-on so the flat plane reads as a turn.
- 01
A Skia canvas that keeps drawing while its face is hidden can freeze on device, so each face’s canvas only exists while that face is showing.
- 02
The same applies when the app is covered — Control Center, the app switcher, starting a screen recording. Both canvases are dropped and rebuilt on return.
- 03
Born edge-on during a flip, the back canvas could come up blank while recording; it is rebuilt once the turn settles face-on.
- 04
Touch always wins over the gyroscope, and the hand-back is eased so the light never snaps.
